Ja’Juan and Elijah of Graham Expeditionary Middle School wrote the song “Rebellion”. While brainstorming for a song topic, the lyricists discovered they both came from big families plagued by sibling rivalry. Predictably, the household arguments centered around your usual major crises of youth. “ T.V, the computer, who gets the remote, and who gets candy”, explains Elijah. So, with help from Glenn Davis, they wrote a song about it.
lyrics
Verse 1
You take what's mine,
But now it's time.
You put a fire in me.
You must be dreaming,
But you're not
You take what's mine,
But now it's time.
You put a fire in me.
You must be dreaming,
But you're not
Chorus
Fighting you dusk to dawn,
This is the rebellion.
Watch me rise watch you fall,
I'll take you down once and for all.
This is, this is, this is the rebellion! x4
Verse 2
You have my back against the wall.
You're about to hear my battle call.
You can't take my pride away,
If you tried on any day.
I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna let you win
I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna let you win
I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna let you win
I'm not gonna let you win...
Chorus
Fighting you dusk to dawn,
This is the rebellion.
Watch me rise watch you fall,
I'll take you down once and for all.
This is, this is, this is the rebellion! x4
Bridge
You can say what you want,
But it will make me stronger.
I'm bigger and braver than you.
You can say what you want,
I won't take it any longer.
I'm done with it, this is it, you've pushed me too far...
Chorus
Fighting you dusk to dawn,
This is the rebellion.
Watch me rise watch you fall,
I'll take you down once and for all.
This is, this is, this is the rebellion! x8
