Throughout history, many great songwriting teams have come in pairs: Lennon and McCartney, Jagger and Richards, Rogers and Hemmerstein. When two talents are in sync with each other they can be appear to be acting on a single creative wavelength. To this list we might add Columbus Montessori 4th graders Maggie and Isabella, who collaborated on a song for The Dick & Jane Project in the spring of 2012. “We ended up calling our song P.A.R.T.Y,” explained Maggie. “and you have to say (each letter, not the whole word)”. The two teamed up with Columbus band Tin Armor, a tight nit group of four young men with a thorough understanding of the importance of collaboration. When the young lyricists and the band were discussing the direction they were hoping for their song, the girls knew exactly the feel they were after. “I want the listeners to feel like they are actually at a party,” says Maggie, “you know, that it’s a good song and its catchy.” “It is catchy!” clarifies Isabella.
