The 1st Inclusive Songwriting Experiences was facilitated at St. Timothy parochial School, K-8. Three typically developing students (Aubrey, Amy, and Annie) and one student on the spectrum (Henry) collaborated with Dick & Jane Producer Glenn Davis to write the song.
lyrics
When days seemed dark, you painted them a brighter shade of blue
You've stayed in the back of my mind, and I'll never forget you
We took time for granted, we thought we owned it all
We never really knew how much we had, and I didn't think I'd watch you fall
Opportunities are gone in the blink of an eye
Even if our memories fade our love will never die
Opportunities are gone in the blink of an eye
Even if our memories fade our love will never die
The worst goodbyes often are the ones that are never said
I wish you were still here with me, and not just in my head
You'll never get to see the happy person I become
But I'm sure I'll make you proud of me before my days are done
Opportunities are gone in the blink of an eye
Even if our memories fade our love will never die
Opportunities are gone in the blink of an eye
Even if our memories fade our love will never die
Wishing you'd come back, is often how I feel
Seeing you again someday, would be so surreal
You lit me up in darkness, and when I fell apart,
You knew where to find them, the pieces of my heart
Opportunities are gone in the blink of an eye
Even if our memories fade our love will never die
Opportunities are gone in the blink of an eye
Even if our memories fade our love will never die
